Arrests Targeting the Shia Minority in Syria

Arrests Targeting the Shia Minority in Syria

A force affiliated with the General Security raided the “Hatim Hotel“, located in the Bohman Market in the city of Sayyidah Zaynab (A.S.), and forcibly evicted its Shiite Muslim residents, without providing any explanation or issuing an official statement to date.

During the raid, several residents were assaulted, and a number of them were arrested. The fate of the detainees remains unknown, amid an official silence that raises serious concerns and questions about the motives and background of the incident.

We hold the responsible authorities fully accountable for these actions and demand an immediate disclosure of the facts, assurance of the detainees’ safety, and the preservation of civil peace. We also call for an end to any discriminatory practices that threaten the social fabric of the region.
